A rise in residents

A rise in residents

Carol moved to Oakfield Rise from Meningie after deciding that she wanted to be closer to family and services. Being comfortable in a new home and not having to worry about maintenance issues was also important to her. Carol has 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren!

Fay and John Cooke married 66 years ago in the NT, and went on to have 10 children. They were attracted to Oakfield Rise because of The Knights of the Southern Cross Care, a group of Catholic laymen who founded Southern Cross Care. Family is very important to them both, along with Fay’s interests of prayer groups, mass, socialising, exercise and John’s interests of politics and reading. Fay said their move to

Oakfield Rise was the best decision they could make.

“I’ve never lived a life of luxury like this before, I’m extremely impressed with the residents, staff and support we have at Oakfield Rise.

I am just so happy with everything on offer, it’s an excellent location; we use the walking track to go for walks and there are plenty of shops and things nearby.

Plus, the support you receive from staff is so quick and helpful and the neighbours are very friendly.”

Monica was born in Streaky Bay. She married Bernie in 1976 and went on to have 2 children, Giselle and Phillip. She also has 3 grandchildren. Oakfield Rise is now her home and she is enjoying her new surrounds. Also a keen traveller, Monica has visited many overseas countries over the years and intends on continuing with more trips planned.
