New neighbours meet for the first time

We can live next to our neighbours for years without knowing their names, but Southern Cross Care didn’t want that to be the case, for the future residents at Oakfield Rise in Mount Barker.

On 23 June, Southern Cross Care held an exclusive event to help future residents rub shoulders with their neighbours.

With Metricon as the builder of the 21 brand new homes in Stage 3, it was only fitting to host the event in their magnificent showrooms overlooking the South parklands on the city fringe.  Metricon Homes are SA’s most awarded builder with over 40’s of experience all of which they will use to build the next stage of Oakfield Rise.

‘With almost all of the stage 3 homes now secured by eager prospective residents, this was a great opportunity for everyone to come together to share stories and discuss their common move into the wonderful community that is Oakfield Rise’ said Alexandra Hall, Southern Cross Care’s Retirement Sales and New Project Manager.

The ‘soon to be’ residents were able to mingle with their new neighbours along with the sales and construction team at Metricon, while enjoying a delicious morning tea prepared by Chez Coffee and The Caterers.

Many residents were overheard pointing out their new home on the site plans only to discover the couple next to them at the morning tea had purchased the one right next door.

Nestled in the heart of the beautiful Adelaide Hills in Mount Barker, Oakfield Rise Retirement Estate currently consists of 45 villas, however will eventually grow to an impressive 185 homes.  Included in this significant development, and soon to be constructed,  will be a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose Community Centre for residents to enjoy.

Oakfield Rise is one of 39 retirement locations managed by Southern Cross Care, spanning across South Australia, the Northern Territory and Victoria.

Stage 3 is due to be completed in June 2022, with the focus already turning to looking towards Stage 4 and the community centre.
