Whether it’s to the next town over or somewhere interstate, there are still plenty of great places to visit in Australia.
Richard Mann, Oakfield Rise Sales Consultant, gave us an insight into one of his favourite holidays and some suggestions for places to visit near Mount Barker.
One of my most memorable travel experiences was in September 2014, when I travelled to England. We landed in London and stayed there for three days, toured the city and then travelled by train to Dartmouth in Devon to stay with friends who owned a B&B.
After 3 days we left via Bristol and flew to Pisa in Italy, to attend a wedding in Sienna (the real reason for the overseas travel). The son of a friend of ours was marrying an English girl, and the celebrations were held over three days on an Estate 10 kilometres from Sienna.
Prior to arriving in Sienna we had three nights in Florence which is a memorable city, one particular highlight was celebrating my birthday at a great restaurant in the hills for lunch above Florence overlooking the city.
After leaving Sienna, we travelled to Rome for three nights and saw all the tourist sites before heading back to Adelaide after three weeks.
The award winning Laratinga Wetlands are a 10 minute drive from Oakfield Rise, and I really recommend visiting it.
From scenice walks, picnics or just to watch the local birdlife, there’s plenty you can do at Laratinga.
Once you’ve been there I’d recommend Keith Stephenson Park that’s also a short drive from Oakfield Rise.
It’s a great spot to take your dog, or take the grandchildren out for the day.
